Get to Know the Jet Set Candy Glossary

Get to Know the Jet Set Candy Glossary

Everything you see on your wrist (and neck), explained.

There's a lot happening at Jet Set Candy. Sterling silver, gold vermeil, and solid gold. Spinning Taxi wheels, magic lamps, nesting Matryoshka dolls and charms for over 200 cities and countries not to mention National Parks, landmarks, and the entire Nautical Alphabet.

If you're new here: welcome. If you've been collecting for years: this one's still worth a read. Consider it the definitive decoder for everything you see, wear, and build with Jet Set Candy.

Below, you'll find every term that matters — what it means, how to use it, and where to shop it. Think of this as your orientation before the adventure starts. Let's go!

A charm collection is a wearable map. The more you know about what goes into it, the better the story it tells.

Bracelet: Infinity

Silver Infinity Link Charm Bracelet with a sterling silver mini airplane. Each link opens via a spring hinge. The photo shows the bracelet in a circle shape on a white background

JSC's take on the charm bracelet — but smarter. No jeweler appointment, no pliers, no frustration. Every link opens and closes on a spring hinge, which means you can add, swap, and rearrange charms in seconds. Your bracelet can look completely different on Saturday night than it did on Tuesday morning. That's not an accident. It's the whole idea.

The Infinity Bracelet can be worn alone. You can spotlight a few select charms or rock a fully loaded bracelet. Layer it with other, more delicate bracelets including the Paperclip, the Daily, or even the Slim Infinity. Same jewelry, entirely different story depending on how you wear it.

Charms: 3D

Two-Tone Charm set featuring three nested matryoshka dolls with gold, rose gold, and sterling silver finishes and floral engravings.

Exactly what they sound like and then some. 3D charms are designed to move, open, entertain, and surprise. A San Francisco trolley with wheels that actually spin. Beer steins with lids that lift. Windmill blades that catch the breeze. Matryoshka dolls that nest inside one another. An Amalfi Coast lemon that opens to reveal a mini limoncello inside. A Vegas slot machine that lets you test your luck.

These charms don't just represent a place, they bring a piece of it back with you and add a little whimsy to your day. The details are what make them. Someone who's been to Istanbul can spot the Galata Tower from across the room. Someone who's never been is about to get curious.

Gift an Italian Vespa charm to someone who rented a scooter in Cinque Terre and refused to talk about anything else for six months. Watch them lose their mind in the best possible way. That's what a 3D charm does, it names the moment and revives the travel joy.

Charms: Luggage Tags

Solid Gold London Charm, LHR Luggage Tag - JET SET CANDY (1720187551802)

Modeled after vintage bag tags that once adorned passenger baggage on steamships, trains, and, eventually airplanes, these charms are miniaturized and made to last. Each Luggage Tag charm calls out a specific airport using its three-letter IATA (International Air Transport Association) code: CDG for Paris. FCO for Rome. JFK for New York. OGG for Maui (yes, really). And then the details that make each one specific, the local landmarks, symbols, language, and flags that only people who really know the city will recognize and appreciate. And you'll keep finding more details the longer you wear your charm!

With over 200 cities represented, Luggage Tag charms are one of the fastest ways to tell your travel story without saying a word. Stack them and they read like your trip itinerary, a collection of your treasured trips, or love story. Wear just one and it reads like a destination waiting to be explained or even your next bucket list locale.

Charms: Passport Stamps

Sterling Silver Japan Charm, Passport Stamp - JET SET CANDY (1720200593466)

Inspired by the actual entry and exit stamps issued by each country and territory these charms are based on the real thing. Flags, national languages, folklore, crests, national symbols, and important landmarks all show up in the details. The Ethiopia stamp features Amharic, the local language while the Singapore stamp highlights the Merlion, its national symbol. Known as šahovnica, meaning chessboard, the Croatia coat of arms is front and center on that stamp.

Available in both sterling silver and solid gold, Passport Stamp charms cover over 200 countries and territories around the globe.

Nobody is ever going to see your passport book, but they will see your charm bracelet or chain. Start with the countries that mattered most, then fill in the rest over time. Or for those who like to switch and swap their charms, you can create travel stories across continents or eras of your life.

Metal: Gold Vermeil

daily 360 paperclip gold vermeil necklace with smoky mountain national park gold vermail engraved charm, gold vermeil ball chain, and paperclip daily necklace with carabiner and rocky mountain engraved charm

Pronounced "ver-may" — and worth knowing. Gold vermeil is 925 solid sterling silver dipped in 14K gold. At JSC, the gold layer is 2.5 microns thick, which in non-technical terms means it's the real deal: substantial, rich in color, and built to stay that way.

Gold vermeil gives you the warmth and presence of gold at a more accessible price point than solid gold without the cheap, fast-fading finish of standard gold-plated pieces. It's the choice that doesn't need justifying: the warmth of gold, the substance of sterling silver, 2.5 microns of the good stuff.

Metal: Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver charm bracelet featuring an airplane, Eiffel Tower, 3D globe, and luggage tag motifs on a chunky link chain.

That little "925" stamped on your JSC charms? It means something. Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, the remaining 7.5% is made up of metals like zinc and copper, which give the jewelry its durability and resistance to everyday wear. All JSC sterling silver is nickel and lead free. Yay!

Hardy enough for everyday wear, detailed enough to show off the craftsmanship in every charm, sterling silver does it all.

There's more: all JSC products are made up of nearly 100% recycled precious metals. Which means every charm you buy helps decrease demand for newly mined materials. Wearable proof that exploring the world doesn't have to cost the world something to make it.

Minis

Gold charm necklace featuring various travel-themed pendants including a miniature passport, city skylines, and textured 3D luggage tag icons.

Some of JSC's most loved charms, made tiny and shiny. Same great details and designs, just pint-sized. Minis are the answer when you want variety without bulk, or when you're building a bracelet that tells a long story in a small space. They're also perfect for younger jetsetters who are just starting their collection.

Don't underestimate them because of their size. A miniature Eiffel Tower next to a full-sized Colosseum next to a mini Barcelona Luggage Tag reads like a perfectly edited travel diary. The contrast in scale is half the charm. Literally.

Use minis to fill in the gaps on a bracelet that's already well-stocked. They work especially well sandwiched between larger statement charms: a mini Japan Passport Stamp between a 3D Vintage Suitcase charm and a standard London Luggage Tag creates rhythm and texture on the wrist. Think of it as the jewelry equivalent of a well-edited suitcase.

Mixing

Two-Tone charm bracelet featuring a Gold Hollywood clapboard, Sterling Silver flip flop, palm tree, and wine bottle 3D charms.

All JSC jewelry is designed to play well with others. Every charm, every metal, every size was made to coexist which means there are no real rules here, just preferences. Mix metals. Add pops of enamel color. Vary charm sizes from mini to full-sized. Incorporate two-tone charms to tie it all together. There's no wrong way to collect or style.

The goal isn't a matching bracelet that looks like it came pre-assembled. The goal is something that looks like you built it intentionally, over time, from places you've actually been. That's what mixing does. It makes the whole collection feel like yours. Because it is. That's the whole point of Jet Set Candy.
