And the award goes to…

In honor of the 94th Academy Awards, we're featuring our own Oscar-worthy stars. As they say, there are no small parts, only adorable charms! And when Oscar season has come and gone, these movie-themed charms make perfect souvenirs for the cinephile in our lives...and yes, that includes you.    1. WINNER: BEST LOCAL LANDMARK Hollywood Hills Sign Charm Is there anything more glamorous than seeing these iconic letters off in the distance? Any aspiring starlet will answer with a resounding "yes!" You're just this much closer to the limelight with the Hollywood Hills in sight. 2. WINNER: BEST WHIMSICAL CHARM L.A. Clapboard Charm Lights, camera, adorable! A fave of the moveables collection, this clapboard will keep you entertained during your next trip to an L.A. movie premiere. And for a little vocab-building, call it a "slate" and make people think you've spent a little time in front or behind the camera.  3. WINNER: BEST MANTLE ACCESSORY Hollywood Award Statue Charm Every cast and crew member of the silver screen is vying to take this guy home. But who is he? Believe it or not, the Academy librarian and eventual Executive Director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, Margaret Herrick, thought the statue looked just like her Uncle Oscar. The name became official in 1939. 4. WINNER: BEST AIPORT WITH IN-N-OUT BURGER PROXIMITY Los Angeles (LAX) Luggage Tag Charm Miley Cyrus kicks off "Party in the USA" with the story of her first time landing at LAX. And while she's got cardigans and dreams for days, what she forgets to mention is how thrilled she is to be just a stone's throw from every Angeleno's fast food staple: In-N-Our Burger. *Swoon* 5. WINNER: BEST OF BOTH COASTS Bicoastal Boarding Pass Charm Feeling bi-coastal? Whether it's for business or pleasure, some of us just can't say no to enjoying the best of the west and all things east. You're just a boarding pass away from having it all.SHOP THE COLLECTION Are you sitting at the edge of your seat wondering who will win the high honor of best picture this year? We are! Here's a little look of what's up for best pic and some BTS (that's movie slang for "behind the scenes") deets on a few of our favorite nominees!   BELFAST Directed by: Kenneth Branagh Produced by:  Laura Berwick, Kenneth Branagh, Becca Kovacik and Tamar Thomas A story of the Troubles seen through the eyes of a nine-year-old boy isn't exactly a biopic but is certainly semi-autobiographical. But how do you make such a large cast of strangers, including a young new-comer, feel like one big happy family? Apparently, adding tons of soccer (errr....football), golf, and trivia between takes. Games brought the cast together and many of those genuine on-screen moments of warmth and laughter were actually these real-life bonding moments captured on film. Awwwww! CODA Directed by: Sian Heder Produced by:  Philippe Rousselet, Fabrice Gianfermi and Patrick Wachsberger "CODA," which stands for "child of deaf adults" (but in music means a passage that brings a piece to its end...oooh...layers!) premiered in January 2021 at Sundance, the prestigious Salt Lake City-based festival where it snagged the Grand Jury Prize. Woo! And what's so ground-breaking besides the film's extensive use of ASL and primarily deaf actors is that co-star Troy Kotsur, is the first ever deaf male actor to receive an Oscar nod.   LICORICE PIZZA Directed by: Paul Thomas Anderson Produced by: Sara Murphy, Adam Somner and Paul Thomas Anderson Paul Thomas Anderson has brought us many an awesome flick including "Punch-Drunk Love," "Phantom Thread,"even "Boogie Nights," and now he delivers us pizza...licorice-topped, in fact, and complete with a midnight motorcycle ride shot at the Van Nuys Golf Course. But that's not the only pedal-to-metal action that happens in the film. Apparently, lead Alana Haim (of the band by the same surname where she rocks out with sisters Este and Danielle) was actually behind the wheel when her character drives a large truck backwards down a winding hill. No need for a stunt double when you've got months of stick-shift-driving truck experience under your belt before "action!" WEST SIDE STORY Directed by: Steven Spielberg Produced by: Steven Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger "West Side Story," the tale of two star-crossed lovers living in different worlds in NYC is the callbacks of all callbacks! The original film premiered in 1961 based on the Broadway musical from 1957 that was based on...you guessed it! Shakespeare's own "Romeo and Juliet." But what's extra special about this 2021 remake is that Rita Moreno, who famously played Anita on screen 60 years ago (!!!)  is back both in front of the camera as a newly-created character, Valentina, and as an Executive Producer. Brava! POWER OF THE DOG Directed by: Jane Campion Produced by: Jane Campion, Tanya Seghatchian, Emile Sherman, Iain Canning and Roger Frappier This Western drama draws from a novel which isn't anything new. But what's more note-worthy is its filming location! Despite the fact that the story takes place in 1920s Montana, the film was shot in 2020 New Zealand, mostly around the rural area of Otago. The film is an international co-lab between the US, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, and the UK so a little flexibility on set location makes sense!   AND IN THE WORLD OF ANIMATED FEATURE FILMS...  ENCANTO Directed by: Byron Howard and Jared Bush Produced by: Jared Bush, Byron Howard, Yvett Merino and Clark Spencer We don't talk about Bruno but we DO talk about "Encanto." Which is pretty much what we feel while watching it! Plus, it's worth mentioning that the beloved Disney gem is up for THREE awards including Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Music Score, and Best Original Song. As you may know, Mirabel is the first leading lady in a Disney masterpiece to wear glasses but what you might be less familiar with is that the film is chockfull of what they call Easter eggs in the biz or little secret bonuses. This includes at least three appearances from Mickey Mouse himself sprinkled throughout the scenes. Can you spot him? MORE TO EXPLORE
